kewl cranberry walnut bars
what you need:
1 cup of whole-wheat flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1/2 cup of raw sugar
1/3 cup of uncooked quick oats
1/3 cup of walnuts
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup egg-whites
1 Tbsp of reduced calorie margarine, melted
canola oil (for spraying baking pan)
what to do:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F & spray 8 inch square baking pan with canola oil
2. In a bowl mix together flour, baking powder, raw sugar, oats, walnuts & cranberries
3. In a separate bowl whisk together melted margarine & egg-whites
4. Combine contents of both bowls & mix to form batter. Spread evenly & smoothly in pan
5. Bake for about 20 minutes & let cool before cutting
Yields 8 triangular bars
KewlTip: Feel free to use dried apricots in place of dried cranberries!
