Chocolate Cup Dessert for Afternoon Tea
For this Afternoon Tea, make your sweets seasonal. I’m going a step beyond fruit salad by serving delicious, juicy fresh summer berries in homemade chocolate cups for an indulgent bite! It’s super simple — head online or to the local craft store and pick up a few molds for mini, single-serving vessels of chocolatey bliss, grab a few bags of 70%+ dark chocolate (the best kind around!) or white chocolate for a bona fide decadence, and get melting! Follow the instructions for filling the molds, chill them in the refrigerator, and pop out your tantalizing, edible centerpieces. Here, I’ve piled my individual white chocolate cups high with fresh strawberries, or try a blueberry-raspberry medley in the dark chocolate installment to the Afternoon Tea spread. Plus, I’ve garnished this red-white-and-blue feast for the eyes with a dusting of edible gold leaf in the spirit of — quite literally — going for the gold in London at the 2012 Olympic Games!
