Let’s Move
I recently had the privilege of being invited to the White House to meet White House Chef and Senior Policy Adviser for Healthy Food Initiatives, Sam Kass! I am a huge fan of Chef Kass, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Mrs. Obama’s amazing initiative Let’s Move! This empowering campaign was created to inspire, educate, and motivate kids and families around the country to become active and healthy. Let’s Move! is dedicated to helping to solve the problem of childhood obesity.
I am so honored to support and join forces with this incredible campaign and am super excited to be sharing my London-inspiredrecipes with you guys, just in time for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in the heart of the UK! To celebrate and cheer on your favorite athletes with some authentic yet lightened-up treats, create your own classic Afternoon High Tea with a kewl twist, using these delicious treats I’ve cooked up, which are posted on the homepage of the awesome Let’s Move! website! —> http://www.letsmove.gov/
Additionally, while the First Lady was recently in London leading our U.S. Delegation to the Olympics as the games got underway, we kicked off the fantastic competitions right here at home by hosting a special Let’s Move! Olympic Fun Day Meetup at The Miami Children’s Museum in South Florida! We enjoyed a jam-packed afternoon of fun activities, tons of great people, and insurmountable Olympic spirit to make moving a blast!
