Reed Alexander, star of Nickelodeon’s iCarly and celebrity food chef has taken the culinary world by storm! In creating and launching his popular online destination KewlBites.com – an interactive hub of content, 100+ healthy and delicious recipes, fitness information, tips, and more, all grown out of his own personal experiences and targeting kids and families across the country – he has revolutionized the word “wellness” and has inspired millions of people to make feeling great satisfying, easy, and fun. A regular contributing guest on national television platforms like NBC’s TODAY Show, ABC’s Good Morning America Health, CNN, FOX News, and many other key outlets, and a host of a series of featured lifestyle-oriented videos for the vast audience of Rachael Ray’s RachaelRay.com, Reed’s approach is all about good-for-you deliciousness and fun!
Reed serves as a Champion for the Alliance of a Healthier Generation, a partnership between President Bill Clinton’s William J. Clinton Foundation and The American Heart Association. As part of the Alliance’s exclusive Celebrity Chef Program, Reed has just created and recently launched a special menu of healthy school lunch recipes that, in early 2012, were “kid-tested” and resoundingly “kid-approved” in nine public school districts across the country. Today, Reed’s recipes are being cooked and served in approximately 15,000 public schools’ cafeterias nationwide in all fifty U.S. states, available to more than 30 million students everyday.
Additionally, Reed has just had the honor of being invited to visit the White House where he met with First Lady Michelle Obama’s senior team including White House Chef/Senior Presidential Policy Adviser Sam Kass. He was so inspired by Mrs. Obama’s groundbreaking health and wellness initiative, Let’s Move!, and is honored to be a supporter of the program.
Reed is writing his first cookbook which will be published by Rodale Publishing and which will be released Fall 2013, and he will be appearing and leading highlight events at the upcoming 2012 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival in October, as well as returning to the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival in February 2013. In February 2012, Reed became the first kid to ever host a youth-driven culinary demonstration at the prestigious South Beach Wine & Food Festival, alongside top celebrities and Food Network stars.
